I’m usually a pretty good cook – IF I stay in the kitchen. If I wander away and ADD strikes, all bets are off!
These are the most fantastically burned boiled eggs I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even know you could burn boiled eggs (boiled, not that crazy “cook these in the oven Pinterest post which I did end up with scorched eggs there, too).
All eight eggs cracked, most were scorched. The most fantastic ones blobbed out of their shell and made some neat designs.
Luckily, most of the eggs were salvagable! I was planning on making these swedish butter cookies but that was before I saw that it called for 2 cups of butter. So….maybe not!
This week has been one disaster after another so I shouldn’t be surprised!
headache – check!
neck strain – check!
back ache – check!
tinnitus – check!
exhaustion – check!
lots of Thomas the Tank Engine on the TV – check indeed!
I got stuck on Pintrest and got lost in all of the birthy boards.
I can say 100% that I do *not* want to go through pregnancy and birth again, and I do *not* want any more children who can keep me up at night and talk back to me.
But I am still so in love with the whole home birth process. Besides the fact that I find a midwife so much more relatable, caring, trustworthy, and competent than an OB, it is just an amazing experience (for those who want to experience it!!!!)
So maybe, a long, long way down the road, I’ll get involved in the home birth process, whether it’s as a doula or help with advocacy – because nobody should ever be denied their perfect birth if this is what they desire. Who knows. It won’t be me on the birthing stool the next time around, but I can “ooh and awwww” over all of the pictures of others’!
oh my god, I just realized that I shaved *one* leg.
how the hell did I do that?
I believe the mosquitoes are on a timer here. I was out in the yard at 7:45 PM with no problem – 8:00PM comes and I feel like I’m being eaten alive.
I was bored with digging up the tulips, anyways.
