The Gift of Learning

I often get frustrated being home all day with the kids – I don’t have a “boss” per se, but I work for a demanding little tyrant 24/7 and I don’t get many sanity breaks.

However, I need to remember days like these, when I can sit and watch Max work hard with a spoon and some yogurt, and how thankful that I can take the time to do this.  Yes, he’s frustrating and needy and (still!) not sleeping through the night, but he’s also amazing and oh-so-smart and quirky and funny.  Getting the chance to observe how your child learns is a gift, and I need to remember that at times when running off into the woods looks tempting.

And nobody wears yogurt as well as Max does!
